Because of his reputation as a star, along with his ability to manipulate people, Drew is able to do the minimum to get by and charm some teachers into giving him a pass on grades and assignments. This is also where Drew and Urban first meet and get to talk. Drew could not believe it because the man was supposed to have died. I will recommend this book to people who like basketball and mystery. The words used would imply what it meant very easily, which is good for someone who is not familiar with all the terms.

I don't think a non-athlete would like this cause they might lose interest or be confusing. With the summer league championship on the line, just how far is Hutch willing to bend to be a good teammate? When it came to tests and homework Lee did most of the work for Drew. That is, until a washed-up former playground legend steps back onto the court and takes True under his wing. Loaded with action-packed, suspenseful basketball sequences, crisp dialogue, sharply drawn characters, and keen insight into contemporary basketball culture in America, Drews story illuminates the realities and choices facing gifted young athletes. I gave this book a five out of five stars. Characterization: Drew Robinson was an amazing athlete.
Lee is tall and not as skinny with blond hair. From basketball to romance to winning in general. Had to end there for spoilers I recommend this book to people who like sports and suspense. Gilbert, the rich benefactor who treats Drew like a luxury commodity; Drew's teammate and best friend, Lee, content to pick up Drew's off-the-court slack for the good of the game. Lee is a senior on the team with Drew and the two are very opposite in personality. He has just moved to a new school and has just started the basketball season.

A solid mix of character-driven realism and basketball action. Some of the scenes were cheesy, of course, but I felt good about teaching it to kids.
