It was fun, but their bunny hill is really small and uses a pulley lift which requires a bit of strength and it can be awkward with many people including myself falling going up on it every now and then. I've been skiing here several times and it's usually pretty good. Pizza is delicious , soups are not. Bought 2 tickets through liftopia for 1-18-17. Most of the slopes had over several inches of powder which worked wonders on slowing us down. Kissing Bridge is located in a snowbelt getting an average of 182 inches of snow and also makes a lot of its own snow.
See base depth recorded at the upper mountain, mid mountain and lower mountain stations, along with the current weather at the summit and base elevations, including wind mph and direction. Came here after work since it was only a 30-min drive as supposed to Holiday Valley. Kissing Bridge has 700 acres of terrain over 37 trails. I presented the deal via my phone as the deal says you can , and the window lady just looked at me. It had no 'buzz' or positive vibe whatsoever. They do have indoor locker and picnic areas which are nice for families on a budget. The staff were hit and miss.
The staff is really friendly and are always ready to help, give pointers, answer questions etc. There is limited variety, and you are down in 4 seconds to only be quickly reminded about the painful chair lift ride and your cold body! I came eager to learn, step out of my comfort zone and have an awesome thrilling ride down the slopes. No you kinda have to walk half way back to get a trail that has a pass. We were told that there was nothing they could do because they did not sell us the tickets. My family and I took a 90 minute lesson since my kids had never skied and my husband and I hadn't skied if years.
This really bugs me, since the snow they do make is really icy due to their older equipment. Cool place to ski but not so good to learn ski while they do not have separate place for kids and adults, also they add 8-10 people for ski which no one is in a same level and instructors spend time just with one that is weak or ones they are just good. There are definitely things that are great, but at this place they need some work to bring it up to modern standards. We should have been given 2 lift tickets to be used at a later date. Without a doubt I would advise you drive to Holiday Valley and enjoy a great ski day.
Furthermore, they have an actual ski lift to go up it. Very friendly staff all the way around from the ticket booth to the lifties and the bar staff. They all feel the same, no variety. I slipped on their super icy snow and was flung down the hill. Perfect day if you go in not expecting Vail! Kissing Bridge is only really suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Kissing Bridge is easy to get to if you are in the Buffalo area, it is more affordable than some and every employee we encountered was knowledgeable, kind and professional. For snowboarders, there is a terrain park and a half pipe.
I drove an hour to be here, and she was essentially telling me to drive home, print the living social deal, and come back. The place just seemed no well kept and maintained. You're trying to create a safe environment. I don't know what to tell you, you have to have the printed copy or else I can't help you. Skied a while longer and had another beer outside by the fire pit.
How much snow did Kissing Bridge get today? The instructors teaching us were so courteous, energetic, professional and full of positive energy. So I call, explain the situation and that nothing from my purchase receipt says they expire by that day until I print a ticket. When someone falls on the pulley, they stop the whole system and it can really back the line up. Click Add to Compare to see a side-by-side comparison of Kissing Bridge vs. Oh wait, no, scratch that. It's pity that one person can totally negate the efforts done by other great! So I almost collide into some people and end up hitting a wooden post that eventually stops me. I'll be back since it's so close and will update the review once I check out some of the other hills they have.
Luckily, the group that I came with had a lesson scheduled so I just dazed around for a bit until the start of the lesson. Goods: -Not crowded -friendly staff -good cheap restaurant food and drink -cheap er lift tickets against other local resorts. Bads: -Terrible snowmaking coverage, only 3 slopes open at the same time that holiday valley had 20. We have no information about the existence of any cross country ski trails at Kissing Bridge. I would definitely recommend for first timers.
The snow isn't really groomed well, so expect a lot of ice because there was a lot of ice the few times I've gone here. Intermediate groomed cruisers are the most prevalent throughout the resort, with beginners and difficult runs thrown in. Some friendly and helpful, some put off by my existence. How many lifts are open and how many runs are open at Kissing Bridge? The fire place there is super nice and cozy, bars are fun with live music. If I had paid full price for this, I would've been pissed. People throwing bottles, cans, cig packs etc as they ride up and no one patrolling or cleaning this up? The fire place there is super nice and cozy, bars are fun with live music. Overall, the place is nice and it's close to Buffalo.
I just about stopped coming back after I discovered Holiday Valley. Both peak and peek and holiday valley have them beat here. Kissing Bridge offers a great wide area on which to ski, with each run with a close accompanying parallel lift. Got here by 5:30 pm and got right to it. The whole point of this hill to exist is for people who are learning. First off to get to the otherside of the mountain you have to basically walk like half a mile across the top of the mountain which slopes downward so its easy.
